Study shows impact of big data on the enterprise

A new study from Accenture illustrates how today’s businesses are utilizing their big data and how these informational-driven decisions position their organizations for success.

The report, Big Success With Big Data, surveyed senior technology administrators and business executives and discovered that more than half of respondents – 60 percent – had fully completed successful implementation of a big data strategy. Of these organizations, 92 percent were satisfied with the results of this deployment. In addition, 89 percent of those surveyed noted that big data is very important to their business and its shift toward more digital technologies.

The vast majority of companies that have implemented a big data strategy are pleased with the impact it has on their organization.

The study also illuminated the impact big data is having on enterprises across the globe, particularly when it comes to understanding the information and the insights it can help expose. Many firms are finding that in order to attain the results they seek, they may need assistance from big data experts outside their organization.

“Users discover that there is a lot to learn about data as an asset and about analytics,” Accenture noted in an infographic. “With big data talent in short supply, successful users source skills wherever they can find them, leaning heavily on external, experienced resources.”

Overall, big data is continuing to have quite the impact on the enterprise sector, spurring more corporations to leverage the information they have on hand for improved decision-making. However, big data initiatives cannot be successful without proper data management. To find out more about how to properly maintain and store this important information, contact iT1 Source today.
