iT1 Partners with Nucleos to Better Prepare Inmates For Life After Incarceration
TEMPE, AZ – March 2022 – iT1 Source, a global technology solution provider, has partnered with Nucleos to provide reentry education to incarcerated people to reduce recidivism through technology in U.S. correctional facilities.
Together, iT1 and Nucleos will provide a turn-key, cost-effective, scalable, communication and education platform for the corrections industry.
The iT1 and Nucleos secured learning platform integrates existing and new digital learning resources into one platform for ease-of-use tracking, reporting, and management, providing the latest technology for the expansion of existing correctional and re-entry learning platforms.
“An alarming number of released inmates from the country’s correctional facilities are underprepared for life after incarceration,” said Ian Dunnington, iT1’s Director of Government Sales and Programs. “Many of these released inmates are destined to return to jailed life without better preparation. That is what we are striving to accomplish with our partnership with Nucleos and ultimately our customers.”
Nearly 80% of inmates released from prison are re-arrested within 9 years. iT1 can assist in transforming the lives of former inmates so they can permanently exit the criminal justice system by expanding education, training, and rehabilitative programs in prisons. This program will help the formerly incarcerated reintegrate into society and support their families and the communities to which they return.
“We believe that everyone should have access to 21st century learning. We work with public correctional facilities to help keep people from returning to jail or prison,” said Nucleos founder Noah Freedman. “Bringing better education and rehabilitation opportunities to the millions of Americans who cycle through the U.S. correctional system will help those facilities achieve that much-needed cost savings as well as reduce future inmate populations.”
Studies show that for every dollar spent on correctional education, $5 is saved in three-year re-incarceration costs. By combining iT1’s robust technology capabilities and Nucleos’ industry-leading program, this partnership will reduce future re-incarnation costs and increase operational efficiencies for public correctional agencies. Additionally, there’s no cost to inmates or their friends and family for the Nucleos educational program.
